My Candle in a dark room
She took me in when I had cancer and needed to move closer to medical care. She cooked and cared for me, drove me to appointments and helped me smile. Two years later, my son was diagnosed with leukemia. She did it all again, for me and my son. My son loved her as a friend, and when he was sent home to be cared for by hospice, he died in her living room. She comforted me then too. And, yes, after a time, she helped me smile again. She is sweet.
